17 · DEC ·2015

Are you a traditionalist when it comes to your carols? With Christmas only a few days away now, some may be fed up with hearing carols. Especially as some stores starting playing them as early as November. But for others, they can’t get enough. Luckily in this day and age you don’t need to find your nearest music store to buy a whole album for your favourites. No longer do we listen in to Capital Radio on a Sunday afternoon to hear the top 40 most purchased songs. It is now the most downloaded list that everyone is interested in. And that is no different for carols. Although, ClassicFM will play the top 30 on Christmas day for those interested. While TIME also looks at the most popular traditional carols – silent night in case you are wondering – on the Internet you can find any genre. Here is a selection in case you are looking for something different this year. Just make sure your Internet connection is up to scratch otherwise it may be like listening to a scratched record back in Christmas’ passed. The first Christmas rap song was released in 1979 by Kurtis Blow which naturally led to many others: Run DMC – Christmas in Hollis Ludacris - Ludacristmas Ying Yang Twins – deck da club Or possibly some Reggae Christmas songs is of interest? Although, no one can go past Mariah Carey and Wham for a classic at Christmas. What are some of your favourites?
