Full Job Specification
Working within the Networking Engineering Team to deliver networking solutions for our clients and the primary role will be to assist the technical leads/Senior Engineers across multiple projects, working closely with both the client, and our project management team.
The successful candidate will have close involvement with our client base as well as working with our existing technical team to deploy network solutions and working as part of a resolver group for troubleshooting technical issues and support activities when required.

Activities, Duties and Key Tasks
- Assisting and supporting the existing network engineering team during project delivery.
- Commissioning WAN circuits / MPLS / Ethernet / Internet.
- Configuring and deploying Multi Vendor Devices (Switches, Routers and Firewalls) including SDWAN devices such as Cisco Meraki.
- Configuring, installation, and troubleshooting hardware.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary technical team.
- Receiving and owning issues; enquiries and change requests for support from clients and prioritise these requests accordingly.
- Investigating and troubleshooting network availability and application problems and other requests for support.
- Performing troubleshooting and diagnosis for issues using the technical resources and managements and monitoring tools available.
- Perform logical and physical design activities. Design, develop, implement, tune and support network environments and equipment.
- Implement complex hardware and software upgrades to meet capacity requirements.
- Perform configuration changes to increase network coverage.
- Liaison with 3rd parties, customers and site providers to ensure completion of tasks.
- Processing / coordinating service requests (moves, adds & changes)
- Ensuring that all processes are followed and all issues are owned through to resolution
- Ensuring health and safety of self and others
- Undertaking all other reasonable requests/ tasks that may be required of the post as directed by Line Manager.
General:
- Adhering to quality communication standards defined by FluidOne.
- Adhering to FluidOne’s Security and Data Protection and confidentiality Clauses.
- Undertaking any other duties deemed suitable by management.
- Maintaining job related training as required by management.
Experience / Qualifications: Essential:
- GCSE Grade C or equivalent; Maths, English,
- Cisco CCNA Technical Accreditation or equivalent experience
- knowledge and competence of multi-site LAN & WAN environments including IP routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, WiFi and Security.
- Proven knowledge and competence of WAN\LAN technologies and products
- Be competent at configuration and troubleshooting of WAN/LAN products, multi vendor skills would be a bonus
Desirable:
- Awareness of OSI model.
- Awareness of WAN/MPLS technologies.
- Experience with working with ISP suppliers.
