Role Overview:
As an IT Presales Architect South, you will be responsible for producing and owning presales technical solutions for SMB customers aligned to FluidOne’s Managed Service Provider (MSP) offerings, supporting opportunities covered by the Camberley and Brighton offices.
This role is focused exclusively on SMB-scale projects and ongoing managed services, delivering repeatable, standardised, and commercially viable solutions across Modern Workplace, Microsoft 365 migrations, on‑premises to cloud transitions, and server refresh and upgrade projects.
You will work closely with regional sales teams, consultancy, and delivery functions to ensure solutions are fit for MSP delivery, scalable, and aligned to FluidOne service standards.
The role operates on a hybrid basis, with a requirement to attend the office two days per week or undertaking customer visits to discuss opportunities and proposals, when required
Key Responsibilities:
Regional SMB Presales Ownership (South)
- Act as the primary presales technical lead for SMB MSP opportunities across the South
- Support opportunities aligned to the Camberley and Brighton offices
- Proactively identify cross-sell opportunities within the Camberley and Brighton customer base
- Work closely with sales teams to shape opportunities from early qualification through proposal
- Maintain a strong balance of speed, quality, and commercial awareness
SMB Presales Delivery
- Deliver presales solutions for SMB customers, focused on:
- Standardised Modern Workplace
- SMB M365 tenant migrations and consolidations
- On‑premises to cloud migrations
- Server refresh and lifecycle upgrade projects
- Focus on pragmatic, supportable designs rather than bespoke enterprise architectures
- Ensure all solutions map cleanly into ongoing MSP support models
Customer Engagement & Discovery
- Lead lightweight discovery sessions tailored to SMB environments
- Understand customer business needs, budget constraints, and operational priorities
- Translate requirements into clear, outcome-focused presales solutions
- Act as a trusted technical advisor while maintaining commercial pragmatism
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the client organisation
- Design presales solutions covering:
- Microsoft 365 Modern Workplace (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Entra ID)
- Small-scale tenant-to-tenant and domain migrations
- On‑premises to Azure or hybrid SMB architectures
- Server upgrades, refresh, and cloud transitions
- Produce right-sized, standardised architectures aligned to MSP delivery
- Avoid unnecessary complexity; prioritise supportability and margin
Solution Architecture & Design (SMB)
- Design presales solutions covering:
- Microsoft 365 Modern Workplace (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Entra ID)
- Small-scale tenant-to-tenant and domain migrations
- On‑premises to Azure or hybrid SMB architectures
- Server upgrades, refresh, and cloud transitions
- Produce right-sized, standardised architectures aligned to MSP delivery
- Avoid unnecessary complexity; prioritise supportability and margin
M365 & Migration Presales (SMB)
- Shape presales solutions for:
- Simple tenant consolidation or separation scenarios
- AD to Entra ID alignment and cleanup
- File to SharePoint, Exchange to Exchange online
- Identity, access, and authentication suitable for SMB operations
- Complete M365 Environment reviews to identify improvements to existing customers
- Clearly articulate scope, assumptions, risks, and exclusions
- Ensure migrations are repeatable and operationally manageable
- Design presales solutions for:
- SMB server refresh and lifecycle upgrades
- Virtualisation upgrades
- Azure IaaS migrations for MSP-managed environments
- Ensure designs fit within standard MSP toolsets and operational processes
Infrastructure & Cloud Presales (SMB)
- Design presales solutions for:
- SMB server refresh and lifecycle upgrades
- Virtualisation upgrades
- Azure IaaS migrations for MSP-managed environments
- Ensure designs fit within standard MSP toolsets and operational processes
Presales Documentation & Commercial Support
- Produce concise presales documentation including:
- High-level solution overviews
- Migration and upgrade approaches
- Assumptions, risks, and dependencies
- Statement of Works (SoW) including pricing
- Support proposals, scopes, and customer-facing presentations
- Attend customer site meetings to discuss opportunities and proposals
- Clearly communicate value and limitations to manage SMB expectations
Security & Identity (SMB MSP Focused)
- Embed baseline security and identity best practice into all solutions
- Design identity and access approaches using Entra ID and Conditional Access
- Ensure solutions meet MSP security standards without over-engineering
- Align security controls to SMB budgets and operational maturity
- Work closely with Engineering, Consultancy, MSP Delivery, Service Desk, and Security teams
- Ensure smooth handover from presales into delivery and managed service onboarding
- Contribute to repeatable presales templates, solution patterns, and standards
- Help refine and improve SMB MSP presales offerings
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, and accelerate presales
- Stay current with Microsoft SMB-focused cloud and workplace solutions
Internal Collaboration
Work with Enterprise Presales to coordinate delivery, solutions, and technologies across group
Continuous Improvement
- Help refine and improve SMB MSP presales offerings
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, and accelerate presales
- Stay current with Microsoft SMB-focused cloud and workplace solutions
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in SMB-focused IT presales, solution architecture, or consultancy
- Strong background in Microsoft 365 and SMB migration scenarios
- Experience designing solutions intended for MSP delivery and ongoing support
- Solid understanding of on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid SMB environments
- Strong communication skills, able to explain solutions clearly to SMB customers
- Commercially aware, with a strong focus on scope control and delivery alignment
- Microsoft certifications (MD-102, MS‑102, AZ‑104, AZ‑305, SC‑300 or similar)
- Full UK driving licence.
