Role Overview: 

 As a Technical Pre Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for designing and supporting presales solutions for SMB customers aligned to FluidOne MSP offerings across the Brighton, Camberley, and London regions. 

The role focuses on Microsoft 365, cloud transformation, infrastructure upgrades, cybersecurity, and managed services, delivering practical, scalable, and commercially aligned solutions for SMB customers.

You will work closely with Commercial Directors, Account Managers, Sales teams, Consultancy, Engineering, Security, and Delivery functions to support customer opportunities from discovery through to proposal and handover. You will also work closely with and be supported by the wider technical teams across the business to help shape, validate, and deliver customer solutions.

This role also includes acting as a trusted technology advisor to customers in a virtual CIO (vCIO) capacity, helping businesses align technology decisions with operational goals, security requirements, and future growth plans.

The role is hybrid and will require attendance at customer sites and regional offices when required.

Key Responsibilities: 

Presales & Customer Engagement

• Act as the technical presales lead for SMB opportunities across the South
• Support Commercial Directors and Sales teams with customer engagement, technical strategy, and solution positioning
• Lead customer discovery sessions, workshops, and strategic technology discussions
• Translate business requirements into practical, supportable, and commercially aligned solutions
• Present technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Provide strategic customer guidance in a virtual CIO (vCIO) capacity where required

Solution Design & Architecture

• Design SMB-focused solutions across Microsoft 365, Azure, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and managed services
• Support migration, transformation, server refresh, cloud adoption, and modern workplace projects
• Ensure solutions align with FluidOne operational standards and MSP delivery models
• Focus on scalable, standardised, and supportable solution design
• Embed security best practice using Microsoft security technologies and FluidOne security standards
• Work with CSA Cyber for advanced or specialist cybersecurity engagements where required

Documentation & Delivery Support

• Produce high-level solution designs, scopes of work, pricing support, and technical proposals
• Support smooth handover into delivery and managed service onboarding
• Work collaboratively across Engineering, Security, Consultancy, Delivery, and wider technical teams
• Help improve and standardise presales processes, templates, and solution offerings

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in IT presales, solution architecture, consultancy, or MSP engineering within the SMB market
• Strong understanding of Managed Services and the Microsoft ecosystem including Microsoft 365 and Azure
• Ability to design practical, supportable, and commercially aligned solutions
• Strong communication, consultancy, and customer engagement skills
• Ability to build trusted customer relationships and provide strategic technology advice
• A proactive mindset with a willingness to continuously learn and develop new skills in an evolving technology landscape
• A strong engineering background with an understanding of operational MSP delivery and service-led solution design
• Microsoft certifications relevant to the role and evolving technology landscape will be required and supported as part of ongoing professional development within FluidOne
