Role Overview: 

As an IT Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality workshop services by building, configuring, maintaining, and repairing IT equipment to meet client requirements. You will take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the workshop, ensuring work is completed efficiently, accurately, and to a consistently high standard. Working closely with clients and internal teams, you will provide timely updates on equipment builds, repair progress, and workshop activity while delivering an excellent customer experience. The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving to ensure all equipment is prepared, repaired, and returned in line with agreed service levels.  

 

Responsibilities:

Workshop Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and operating system issues in the workshop.
  • Complete hardware and software break/fix tasks to maintain high operational standards.
  • Assist with stockroom & shipping cover when required

 

Equipment Build and Configuration:

  • Build, configure, and prepare new IT equipment to the required specification.

 

Ownership, Quality, and Records:

  • Own end-user issues through to resolution, escalating where required.
  • Complete all work to a high standard, ensuring consistent quality across workshop and field-based activities.
  • Maintain accurate service-system records for completed work, updates, and resolutions.

Requirements:  

Desktop and Productivity Platforms:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems, including Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 2019 and Microsoft 365.

 

Server and Infrastructure Knowledge:

  • Understanding of Windows Server operating systems.

 

Networking and Troubleshooting:

  • Knowledge of network technologies and core networking principles.
  • Ability to diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot PC hardware and software issues.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with server hardware builds and related software.
  • Knowledge of WDS/MDT for imaging and deployment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune and modern endpoint management.
  • Experience using Acronis imaging software.
  • Understanding of common diagnostic and system analysis tools.
