Account Manager (Mid-Market)

Location: Field based role

Report to: Sales Manager/Director

Salary: £35k with commission

Working hours: Mon – Thursday 9 am – 5:30 pm, Fri 9am – 5pm

Role overview

The Account Manager is an instrumental senior position in the Sales team that will contribute towards a combination of new business targets and maintaining key accounts. Reporting into the Sales Manager/Director, you will work in conjunction with the Sales team to manage and maintain direct relationships. You will be expected to maximise the potential of an existing client base by building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and understanding the key requirements.

Full job specification

  • Build, maintain and grow great relationships with key accounts, this includes everyone up to CEO, CFD and CCO levels from mid-size companies.
  • Manage Key accounts at every level including commercially, making yourself integral to the success of the accounts and FluidOne.
  • Ensure that the sales teams are thoroughly imbedded in all proposals from key accounts.
  • Use the skills to help progress and close deals from key members of the sales team. We refer the people as an Overlay.
  • Ensure robust reporting, using SalesForce, into FluidOne.
  • Ensure that you can provide key stakeholders information about the key accounts.
  • Over deliver against revenue and growth targets.
  • Understand the customers’ business objectives and show real returns on investments to grow our revenue lines.
  • Build and maintain large pipelines and have clear plans around closing them.
  • Where necessary coach the skills to other members of the sales team.
  • Become a trusted advisor with our customers for them to refer new business to FluidOne.
  • Create, run, and deliver specific marketing campaigns, when necessary, with key accounts.
  • Travel to customer sites is essential as this is a field-based role.

Experience / Qualifications

  • A proven track record of success in a competitive sales environment.
  • A keen collaborator.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Hands on experience with CRM software and MS Excel.
  • Good understanding of the sales administration process.
  • Extensive mid-market experience of selling Network Services, UC and ideally Cloud services.
  • A high level of commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential.
  • Must be target orientated, big dream motivated and have a competitive edge.
  • Knowledge of the industry is desirable.


This is mainly a field-based role with maximum two days at the office if needed. Office space and clients are based across the UK so the flexibility to travel is a must.
